The cafe is located under the 100 year old Banyan Fig Trees which were planted in the Gardens in appoximatley 1895.

Entry to the Botanical Gardens is free of charge. It is open 365 days of the year.

Stroll it at your leisure and view the wide range of plant specimens, Cenotaph, Hugo Lassen Fernery, Murray Lagoon and the Japanese Gardens.

Alternatively visit the free zoo, extensive playground or the bike track.



What's Happening in 2012?

Zoo feeding times will start at 2.45pm daily

January - excitingly we saw the arrival of two female Chimanzees to the zoo, named Holly and Samantha. We are still to be advised when they will go on full public display

February - the new enclosure for the Lion Tail Macque monkeys is due to be finnished.

April - Easter falls early in April this year, get in early for any function bookings, this is always a popular date and we book out quickly.

May - Beef Australia returns to Rocky in early May, it will be a busy time for the city with so many visitors to town. Remember to book early for mothers day!!

September - The Rockhampton South Kindergarden Fundraiser High Tea is happening again bookings are essential, more information available closer to the date.
